Flying With Ryanair

One of Europe’s most popular and renowned low cost carriers, Ryanair has been operating since 1985, and pride themselves on being able to offer their customers affordable fares to over 200 connecting destinations. With an excellent reputation for safety, and a focus on keeping their flights no-nonsense and well priced, it is little wonder that Ryanair has expanded exponentially since its inception over 30 years ago.

Ryanair allows its passengers to carry one cabin bag free of charge, though this must weigh no more than 10kg and measure no more than 55cm x 40cm x 20cm. You can also bring one small personal bag, and this must adhere to measurements of 35cm x 20cm x 20cm.

All checked luggage is charged, and you must purchase a baggage allowance amount before you fly. The cheapest time to do this is when you are booking your flight; if you choose to add bags once you have paid for your flight, or at the airport, the prices can rise quite substantially. The maximum baggage allowance you can buy is set at a limit of 2 bags, each with a weight of no more than 20kg. Any overweight or excess baggage will be added on as additional fees.

Booking fee applies to ALL reservations made at airports/call centres. There’s no booking fee charged to passengers who purchased during initial flight booking online. Ryanair also offers group booking for a minimum of 20 passengers and must be paid in full at time of booking, plus an additional 2% credit card fee, no additional charge for debit card payments. Ryanair accept American Express, Visa and MasterCard credit cards, and the debit cards including Maestro, Visa Connect, Visa Electron, MasterCard Prepaid, and Visa Delta. For passengers making payments within Germany, SEPA direct debit payments can only be accepted up to 10 days prior to the flight departure. Bookings paid for by credit card or a MasterCard Prepaid card will incur a fee of 2% of the total transaction value. No credit card fee applies when paying with a debit card or SEPA bank transfer (Germany only)
